In short
- Failed runs are refunded in credits automatically — you don't need to ask.
- HD runs hold up to 119 credits, charge 7 credits for each layer actually returned, and give the rest back when the run finishes.
- Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and stop at the end of the period you've paid for.
- Purchased credits aren't refundable for cash, except for duplicate or accidental charges reported within 14 days, or where the law requires a refund.
Automatic credit refunds
You never have to ask for these — they happen on their own:
- A run fails or times out. For every AI tool — HD and Standard layer splitting, the object eraser, the AI photo editor and the AI PSD generator — all credits held for a failed run go back to your balance.
- An HD run uses less than it held. When an HD run starts, it holds up to 119 credits (or your whole balance, if that is lower). When it finishes, it charges 7 credits for each layer the model actually returned and returns the difference. For example, a run that returns 8 layers costs 56 credits; if 119 were held, 63 come back.
Your credit history under Settings → Credits shows what each run used.
When you're unhappy with a result
A run that completes is charged, even if the split isn't what you hoped for: AI layer splitting depends on the image, and we describe what it does well and where it struggles before you start. If a run completed but the output is clearly broken — for example, empty or corrupted layers — contact us with the details. We'll review it and may return the credits.
Subscriptions
- Cancel at any time under Settings → Billing. Your plan stays active, and its credits stay usable, until the end of the period you've paid for. It then doesn't renew.
- We don't refund the unused part of a billing period, except as described below or where the law requires it.
- Credits from a subscription period expire when that period ends.
Credit packs and other purchases
Credits aren't refundable or exchangeable for cash once they are in your account, and credit packs expire 365 days after purchase. The exceptions:
- Duplicate charges. If you were charged twice for the same purchase, we refund the duplicate in full.
- Accidental charges. If you were charged by mistake — for example, a subscription renewal you meant to cancel — tell us within 14 days of the charge. If the credits from that charge are unused, we refund it to your original payment method and remove those credits.
- Where the law requires it. If you are a consumer with a legal right to cancel or to a refund, nothing in this policy limits that right.
How to request a refund
Email support@images2layers.com from the address on your account, or open a ticket while signed in at Settings → Tickets. Please include:
- the email address of your account;
- the date and amount of the charge, plus the receipt or order number from your Stripe receipt email;
- what happened — for a run, the tool, roughly when you started it, and a screenshot if you have one.
We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe; banks usually take 5–10 business days to show them.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — it is usually faster for everyone. While a dispute is open, we may pause the account it concerns.
